Sherri Lynn Hartman, 44

DOVER - Sherri Lynn Hartman, of Dover, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 16, 2008. She was 44.

She was born in Ashtabula, Ohio, and moved to Delaware as an infant. She graduated from Dover High School in 1981.

Sherri served as team mother for the Hartly/Marydel Little League when her children were younger.

She was very active with Narcotics Anonymous. She found it rewarding to help others entering the program, and to watch their lives change for the better.

Sherri will be remembered as a person who was fulfilled by her life with her family, and as someone who was loving, giving, selfless and compassionate.

She loved nature and all animals, especially caring for stray pets.

She is survived by her husband of four years, John D. Hartman; a son, Matthew Yates and his wife Tara of Camden; a daughter, Mandi Marie Mayhorn of Camden; her parents, Okey and Norma Brummett of Smyrna; a sister, Sonja Mayhorn of Camden; and three grandchildren.

Family and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna.

Services will be held noon Friday in Full Gospel Church, 1119 Clayton-Delaney Road, Clayton, where family and friends may call one hour prior to services.

Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions be sent to Full Gospel Church, P.O. Box 587, Clayton, DE 19938, to help defray funeral expenses.
