Sarah R. Johnson, 84

MILTON - Sarah R. Johnson of Milton passed away Friday, June 8, 2007, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 84.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Milton, daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Emma (Smith) Reed.

She worked as a secretary for Dulany Foods of Milton for several years.

She was a homemaker, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved cats and was an avid Phillies fan.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Milton.

She is survived by her husband, Elwood "Woody" Johnson; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Catherine Hopkins and John "Jack" Hudson of Milton and Kim and Gary Hutcheson of Ordinary, Va.; a son and a daughter-in-law, Bill and Karen Johnson of Milton; two grandchildren, Johnny A. Hopkins III, and his wife, Dawn, and Jessi Johnson; and two great-grandchildren, Justin Hopkins and Izaak Hopkins.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Short Funeral Services Inc., 416 Federal St., Milton.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral chapel.

Burial will be in Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Milton.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Zion United Methodist Church c/o Christopher Lank, 13669 Coastal Highway, Milton, DE 19968.
