BAYARD, Md. - Sarah Dollie Hickman, of Bayard, passed away Monday, March 10, 2008, at her home. She was 84.
She was born in Saint Martins Neck, daughter to the late Peter and Dollie (Lewis) Quillen.
She was a member of the Roxana Wesleyan Church, Blue Hen Homemakers and the Order of the Eastern Star since 1958.
Sarah was a homemaker and a poultry grower.
She loved entertaining people, gardening, canning, doing needlepoint and making crafts.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years marriage, Elisha E. Hickman; her parents, Peter and Dollie Quillen; brothers, Emory Quillen, George Quillen and Nelson Quillen; and sisters, Clara Johnson, Ella Brasure and Electa Kunsman.
She is survived by her children, Wayne E. Hickman and his wife Nancy, Gary O. Hickman and his wife Judy and Cinda S. Rickards and her husband David; four grandchildren, David Hickman and his fiance Marissa DeGuzman, Tim Hickman and his wife Lea, Jessica Rickards and Sarah Marie Hickman; three great-grandchildren, Emily Lucente, Grace Hickman and Lilly Hickman; and one brother, Harris Quillen.
Funeral services will be Saturday at Roxana Wesleyan Church, where friends may visit starting at noon.
The Order of the Eastern Star will begin at 1 p.m. with funeral services following.
Interment will be in Mariner's Bethel Cemetery, Ocean View.
