Ruth W. Parsons, 84

MESA, Ariz. - Ruth W. Parsons of Mesa died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, in her home. She was 84.

Mrs. Parsons was born Nov 22, 1922, in Eldorado, Md.

She graduated from Hurlock (Md.) High School.

Mrs. Parsons lived in Laurel, Del., and retired from E.I. DuPont Co., Seaford, Del., after 40 years of service.

She is survived by a daughter, Elaine Wheatley Morgan of Arizona; three grandsons, Edward V. Smith, Alan L. Smith and Craig R. Smith, all of Arizona; and five great-grandchildren, all of Arizona; two sisters, Mary V. Cullen of Green"s Point, Md., and Shirley Tipton of Federalsburg, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held in Mesa.

Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel.

Inurnment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Laurel.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice Inspiris, 2025 N. Third St., Suite 205, Phoenix, AZ 85004; or to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 2040 W. Bethany Home Road, Suite 103, Phoenix, AZ 85015-2445.
