Ruth Casper DeLong, 82

FELTON - Ruth Casper DeLong, of Felton, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 82.

Ruth was born in Scranton, Pa., daughter of the late Fred Sr. and Erna (Meding) Casper. Her family moved to Delaware when she was a child.

She was a homemaker.

Ruth enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking and canning.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. DeLong Sr., on March 3, 2007; and three sisters, Grace Walls, Gloria Kemp and Dorothy Harris.

She is survived by three children, Robert M. Delong Jr. and his wife Brenda of Milford, Janet Egler and her husband George of Harrington and Michael I. DeLong of Felton; three grandchildren, Jeffory Gibeault and his wife Jenny, Angela DeLong and Robert DeLong III; five great-grandchildren, Jordan Gibeault, Nathan Gibeault, Dylan DeLong, Ethan DeLong and Morgan Wheeler; a sister, Violet Porter of Greensboro, Md.; and a brother, Fred Casper Jr., of Harrington.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Main Street, Felton, where friends may call after noon.

Interment will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
