Ruth B. Berghorn, 77

SMYRNA - Ruth B. Berghorn of Smyrna went home to be with the Lord Friday, Jan. 26, 2007. She passed away quietly at home surrounded by her five children. She was 77.

Ruth was born in Wilmington but spent most of her life in the Smyrna-Clayton area.

She worked at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna as a CNA for many years, retiring in 1990.

She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was a shining testimony to all who knew her. She had the ability to make people laugh, to make a hard time easier and to make a bad time better. Her sense of humor and giving nature will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Daniel D. Willey and wife Dawn of Hartly, Judith Franklin of Smyrna, Eirline Berghorn of Downs Chapel, John A. and Cindi Berghorn of Smyrna and Paul Berghorn of Newark; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dewey Bartlett of Wilmington; a sister, Minnie Coresello of Newark; and a longtime dear friend, Ellen Copper. She will be missed by many other family and friends.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Faith Baptist Church, Del. 300 and Bryn Zion Road, Smyrna, where friends may call at 11 a.m.

Burial will be in Bryn Zion Cemetery, directly across from the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Lacaye Mission Building Fund, c/o Faith Baptist Church, 1575 Bryn Zion Road, Smyrna, DE 19977.

Arrangements are by Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Smyrna.
