DOVER - Rudolph "Rudy" Minor passed away surrounded by his loving wife, special girls and family on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014 at Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 83. Rudy was born on July 18, 1930 in Dover, son of the late Stephen and Bertha (Still) Minor. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. Rudy was a master craftsman and specialized in stairways with W. O. Smith construction for many years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, gardening and playing cards with his very special friends. Rudy, affectionately known also as Bear, is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Rebecca Minor; two daughters, Brenda Tarburton and her husband John of Seaford, Karen Minor of Fort Mill, S.C.; a brother, Herbert Minor and his wife Nancy of Dover; and a sister, Vera Jackimek of Dover; grandchildren, Stephanie O'Leary and her husband Chris of Bear, Samanatha Winchell of Seaford; and a great grandson, Declan O'Leary; nephews, Wayne Minor of Milford, Jeff Minor of Milford, Steven Sorney of Richmond, Va. and Bob Brown of Dover; and a niece, Teresa Brown-Price of Dover. Service will be 12 p.m., Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at the Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Road, Dover, where visitation will be two hours earlier. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Road, Dover, DE 19904 or Bayhealth Junior Board, 640 S. State St., Dover, DE 19901.
