Roy C. Fair, 66

FREDERICA - Roy C. Fair of Frederica died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, in the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore. He was 66.

Mr. Fair was born April 21, 1940, in Gettysburg, Pa., son of Robert D. Sr. and Emma (Gladhill) Fair of Long Neck.

He served in the U.S. Air Force in the early 1960s based in Smyrna, Tenn.

Mr. Fair moved to Dover where he worked as a civil-service aircraft mechanic at Dover Air Force Base for 32 years. He dealt with hydraulics and liquid oxygen. He also worked in the drivers" licensing area in the Delaware Department of Transportation.

He enjoyed Civil War history, bird watching, woodworking and helping others. He had a general love and interest of aircrafts, remote control and model planes. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His grandchildren were the joy of his life.

Mr. Fair was a member of the Faith Community Church, Camden. He was also involved in the Boy Scouts for many years.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert D. "Bud" Fair Jr. in November 2006.

He is survived by his parents, Robert D. Sr. and Emma (Gladhill) Fair; his wife of 36 years, Carol J. (Bosley) Fair of Frederica; a son and a daughter-in-law, John and Amy Fair of Harrington; a daughter, Brenda Fair of Dover; a sister-in-law, Melanie Fair of Long Neck; a sister and a brother-in-law, Betty and Glenn Dubs of Hanover, Pa.; two grandchildren, Seth Fair and Jordan Fair; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the Faith Community Church, 2240 S. DuPont Highway, Camden, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Gideons International Central Delaware Camp, P.O. Box 622, Dover, DE 19903.
