HARRINGTON - Ronald Robert Bawek Sr. passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at the Genesis-Rehab and Nursing Center of Salisbury. Mr. Bawek was born in Minnesota to the late Benjamin O. and Theresa Bawek.
Mr. Bawek served his country proudly in the United States Air Force for 26 years. He served six years during the Vietnam War, and worked as an aircraft mechanic.
Mr. Bawek loved being a handyman and loved working with wood. Rocking horses, shelves, furniture, if it could be built with wood, he could do it. He even built his own home.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gilbert, Eugene, Robert, Leo, Melvin, Luvern, and Norbert Bawek; sisters, Alice, Renee, Darlene; and a grandchild, Russell (George) Benton.
He is survived by his wife, Elinor J. Bawek; sons, Ronald R. Bawek Jr. (Cynthia), Damon P. Bawek; daughter, Theresa Weidman; eight grandchildren, Kenny, Angela, Katrina, Frances, Rhiannon, Jessop, Jared, Evan; numerous great grandchildren, and extended family members.
Services for Mr. Bawek will be private and at the family's discretion.
