Robert V. Young, 79

HARRINGTON - Robert V. Young, of Harrington, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, in Silver Lake Center, Dover. He was 79. Mr. Young was born in Bradford, Pa., the son of the late Vernon Young and Genevieve (Lowman) Rich. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He worked as a truck driver for many years retiring in 1985. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and football. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy (Hubbard) Young in 1987; and a sister, Margaret Lydick in 2001. He is survived by three nieces Sharon Schweinberg and her husband Peter, of Lewis Run, Pa., Barbara Snively, of Apex, N.C., and Lesa Phillips and her husband Larry, of Albuquerque, N.M.; two nephews, Harold "Rusty" Peabody, of Harrington, and Robert Lydick, of Knoxville, Tenn. Services were held on Friday, Jan. 30, 2009 at the McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, 50 Commerce Street, Harrington. Burial was in Hollywood Cemetery, Milford - Harrington Highway, Harrington.
