Robert 'Bob' S. Edge Jr., 87

FREDERICA - Robert S. Edge Jr. "Bob", passed peacefully to meet his Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, while in the loving care of his wife and family. He will be surely missed by all. He was 87. He was born June 19, 1921 in Willow Grove, to the late Robert S. Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Dheu Edge. Mr. Edge owned and operated Edge's Arco and Used Cars in Frederica for over 30 years and was a bronze star recipient in World War II. He was a generous and loving man. He is a member of the American Legion Post 47, Havre de Grace, Md., and the VFW Blue Hen Post 6483, Milford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jacky and Bernard Edge; and his sister, Dorothea Porter. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Alfreda Edge; two sons, Bruce Alfred Edge, and Dale Robert Edge, both of Lewes; three brothers, Miles Edge, Donald Edge, and Joe Edge, all of Henderson, Md.; three sisters, Jean Weller, of Wyoming, Della Husfelt, of Henderson, Md., and Mary Weist, of Fayetteville, N.C.; five grandchildren, Dennis, Eric, Jenny, Kimberly, and Melissa; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008 at Fleegle & Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro, Md. Burial will be in Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro, Md. Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 4, Frederica, DE 19946. Arrangements by Fleegle & Helfenbein Funeral Home, P.A., Greensboro.
