ROCK HALL, Md. - Robert Neal Jacob Sr., of Rock Hall, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, in Chester River Hospital, Chestertown. He was 75. Bobby, as he was known by all, was born on Oct. 10, 1933, in Rock Hall. He was the son of the late Melvin Franklin Jacob and Fannie Wickes Willson. After graduating from Rock Hall High School in 1951, he was a mate on a yacht. In 1956, he entered in the U.S. Navy and served for 2 years. In June of 1957, he married Lillian Coxon who preceded him in death on Oct. 30, 1982. He began a long career at Baltimore Business Forms, and following retirement, he worked building boats and as a mate on fishing boats. He was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Chestertown, and was active with the Rock Hall Zoning Board, Rock Hall Civic Association and the Rock Hall Vol. Fire Co. Auxiliary. His hobbies included fishing, crabbing, bowling and coaching youth softball. Mr. Jacob is survived by his children, Dottie Jacob Hays and her husband Rich of Stevensville, and Robert N. Jacob Jr., (Bobby J.) and his wife Lisa of Galena; four grandchildren, Sara Hays, Kelsey Hays, both of Stevensville, and Gabrielle Heinefield and Thaddeus Jacob, both of Galena; and dear friend, Diann Harris of Rock Hall. Friends may call on Friday, April 17, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, in Trinity Lutheran Church, 101 Greenwood Ave., Chestertown, Md. Burial in St. Paul's Cemetery, Chestertown, Md.
