Robert 'Bert' Lawson, 28 GREENWOOD - Robert "Bert" Lawson Wilson, of Greenwood, a gentle soul with a big heart, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2008, to be a angel with God to watch over and protect his children. He was 28. Bert attended Woodbridge High School. He was a self employed contractor for 9 years and for the last 4 months has been employed by Lowes in Lewes, where he was being trained for a management position. Bert loved his family and playing with his children. In his spare time he enjoyed restoring old cars, but his favorite thing, he would say, was laying on the roof swinging a hammer. He is survived by his wife Mandy Wilson; two daughters, Alexis Rose, age 6, and Taylor BriAnn, age 4; one son, Riley Lawson, age 2; his parents, William T. and Bertha Wilson II of Greenwood; one brother, William T. Wilson III and his wife Kimberly of Lewes; maternal grandmother, Conice Kernodle of Laurel; paternal grandmother, Gladys Wilson of Georgetown; nieces, Allison and Amber; nephews, William Wilson IV and Aven Ethan Wilson; 19 aunts; 14 uncles; 50 cousins; mothers and fathers-in-law, Cynthia and Sonny Garrett of Houston and David and Beth Zedney of Newark; three sisters-in-law, Amber, April, and Heather and her husband Tony; one nephew, Chase; and one neice Hannah. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Fleischauer Funeral Home, 48 West Market St., Greenwood, where family and friends may call one hour before service. Interment will be in Todd's Chapel Cemetery, Del. 16 West of Greenwood. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to a savings fund for the children of Robert "Bert" Wilson which has been set up at any Wilmington Trust, or to Alexis Rose Wilson, or Taylor BriAnn Wilson, or to Riley Lawson Wilson individually stating account number 2500067830 payable to State Farm College Savings Plan, C/O IAIS, P.O. Box 4428, Houston, TX 77210.
