MILFORD - Robert L. "Bob" Veal of Milford passed away Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, after a strong battle with a recent illness, surrounded by his family. He was 58.

Mr. Veal was born Aug. 11, 1948, in Cordale, Ga., son of LaJune (Wood) Eddy and the late Robert Veal.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Veal was a pipefitter employed with the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local 782 in Seaford for 22 years until his illness. He was also a poultry grower for 10 years and for the last four years gladly gave of his time during the day to care for his granddaughter and little "Missy," Jaylyn.

He was an avid deer hunter, enjoyed fishing and loved the early morning hours of the day, the winter months and spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Veal was a member of the Delmarva Poultry Industry and the Delaware Farm Bureau.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Eugene J. Mills; and his step-father-in-law, Howard E. Wilkins.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Fay Veal; two daughters and a son-in-law, Daniell Veal of Milford and her fiancé, Donald Bullock of Harrington, and Jackie and Matt Cates of Milford; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Michael R. and Diane Veal of Maryland and Rodney and Twyla Veal of Milford; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Patric and Kendall Dixon and Crystal and Mike Roe, all of Milford; his mother-in-law, Fannie Mae Wilkins of Milford; two grandchildren, Jaylyn Cates and Austyn Cates; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and deer hunting buddies.

Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where friends may call two hours earlier.

Burial will be private.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Lincoln United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 85, Lincoln, DE, 19960.
