WYOMING - Robert L. "Bobby" Brown went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 23, 2015. Robert was born on April 28, 1943, in Seoul, Korea, and came to the United States at the age of 16, after being adopted by Doris and John L. Brown, a Lieutenant Colonel with the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by both parents. Bobby attended Caesar Rodney High School, graduating with the Class of 1965. While attending CR he was involved in softball and baseball. He was also a champion at Ping-Pong, giving even the most seasoned players a run for their money. At the age of 22, he married the love of his life, Patricia Shockley, and they were blessed with 50 wonderful years together. They remained active and involved members of Wyoming United Methodist Church for over 49 years, attending faithfully until 3 weeks before his passing, when he was no longer able to attend. Bobby was very much a people person, which served him well in his career. He was an extremely hard worker, spending 25 years as a Salesman for Nichols Discount City in Dover, until their closure. He later was employed as the appliance sales manager at Lowe's for another 23 years before finally retiring. Bobby had many hobbies and interests in particular he enjoyed photography. He and Patty often worked together, capturing weddings and other special events. Bobby was well loved by many, a friend to all, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved gardening and other outdoor activities, but his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Bobby leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Patricia; son, Robert "Bobby" Brown Jr., and his wife Jennifer; three grandchildren, Nicolas, Skylar, and Nadia; siblings, Young Yi, Ki Yi, and Jung Soon Moon; and his brother in law, Michael Shockley and wife Judi. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bobby's honor can be made to the American Liver Foundation, 39 Broadway, Suite 2700, New York, N.Y. 10006.
