Robert Currie

Milford - On May 12, 2018, Robert Currie, passed away peacefully at Delaware Veteran's Home.
He was born on October 13, 1920 in Kitscoty, Alberta, Canada, to the late Ralph and Jean Currie.
Mr. Currie honorably served our country in the Navy from 42 -46 in the Atlantic Theater.
Robert worked as a truck driver for Masten, then Red Star, and then T.I.E. trucking, and later as a real estate agent for Wells Agency until retiring at age 80.
Mr. Currie was a member of V.F.W. Post 6483, and Temple Masonic Lodge #9. He was also a Scottish Rite 32 Degree Mason and a York Rite Knights Templar.
Robert enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Mr. Currie was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby F. Currie; and two brothers, Donald and Joe Currie.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert W. Currie, Jr. and Danny and Ellen Currie, all of Milford; a daughter, Joi Currie of Milford; five grandchildren, Dwayne, Scott, Kimberly, Jennie, and Jayda Currie; seven great grandchildren, Skyler, Richard, Jackson, Kai, Ruby, Sam, and Lily; and one sister, Dorothy Silveri.
The family will receive visitors at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018 with a funeral service at 12 p.m. Interment is at Milford Community Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Avenue U.M.C. 20 N. Church St., Milford, DE 19963.
