FRANKLIN, VA. - Rita Sterling, a resident of The Village at Woods Edge, passed away Mar. 20, 2015. Rita was the daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha McGowan of Fitchburg, Mass. She was born on Jan. 10, 1920 and was predeceased by her husband, Paul G. Sterling; a brother, Everett McGowan; and her grandson, Greg Sterling. She is survived by her children, Richard (Linda) of Greenwood, S.C., William of Palm Springs, Calif., Kenneth (Glenda) of Franklin, Va. and Caroline (Gerry) of The Villages, Fla.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many friends at "The Village". Service will be 1:00 p.m. Mon., Mar. 23, 2015 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather one hour earlier.
