Richard 'Dick' Young
Richard "Dick" Young died at home surrounded by his devoted family February 13, 2021. He was born August 12, 1940 in Austin, Minnesota to Alice Erie and Leslie "Ted" Young. He was raised in Tucson, Arizona before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force serving for 22 years as a navigator. He later worked as a Systems Analyst for the State of Delaware.
He joins his parents; sister, Mary Ann Lavine; son, Russell Young; and daughter-in-law, Katie Young; nieces, Beth Hilton and JoAnna Hughes.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Claudia Morgan Young; daughters, Stephanie Merchant and Lesley Etherson; grandchildren, Cody, Clellie, Cruce, Bella, and Emma; great-nieces, Penny Havely, Emily Hilton and Ryan Rapwt; great-great nephews, Sebastian, Max and Kepler; great-great niece, Emerson.
The family will host a service of remembrance at a later time.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to Delaware Hospice.
