Richard Lee Kirkmon, 80
DOVER - Richard Lee Kirkmon passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Bayhealth Kent Campus.
Richard was born on February 27, 1941, to the late Raymond and Lois (Haverstick) Kirkmon in Indianapolis, Ind.
Richard was an U.S. Air Force Veteran who served from 1961-1965. He worked at Lance, Inc. as a branch manager for 23 years and at International Sound at the Dover Casino for 11 years. He was a member of the Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge #203 and the American Legion Walter L. Fox Post #2 in Dover. In his free time, he enjoyed watching the Phillies, Eagles, NASCAR, and Big 10 college basketball, and eating steamed Delaware Blue Crabs.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Irene (Davidson) Kirkmon; his son, Brad Kirkmon and wife, Dawn of Lincoln University, Pa.; his sisters, Donna Owens (Ivan) and Linda Johnson (Greg) of Indianapolis, Ind.; his grandsons, Chad, Shane (Brittney), and Nicholas; his granddaughter, Sonya Dykeman (Jeff); as well as many nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to friends, Theresa Cross and Susan and Michael White; and to Theresa Latorre-Tegtmeier, for her helpful advice. Also, a special mention to the Bayhealth Kent Campus Neurology ICU and 3A Stroke Unit for the wonderful care they gave to Richard.
A private graveside will be held for the family.
