Richard F. Arnold, 77

FREDERICA - Richard F. Arnold, of Frederica, passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 77.

Mr. Arnold was born Oct. 24, 1930, in Bonifay, Fla., to the late Everett and Lorraine (Armstrong) Arnold.

He served 20 years with the U.S. Air Force before retiring from the military.

In 1971, he accepted employment with the Pilot's Association for the Bay and River Delaware, Lewes, as a cook on the pilot boat, and later as a crew member on the launch boat. He retired from this position in 1989.

Mr. Arnold enjoyed fishing and reading.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Alline Arnold in 1994; and two brothers, Carl Arnold and E. Bill Arnold.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan A. Termini of Medford, Mass.; two sisters, Evelyn Sylvest of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Susan Little of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Ann Immele of Kennewick, Wash., and Gail Carr of West Virginia; and three grandchildren, Andrew Termini, Jason Termini and Nancy Termini.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where friends may call one hour prior.

Burial will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.

Flowers are accepted, or the family has requested memorial contributions to the Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Drive, Milford, DE 19963.
