Reverend Allen Y. Jones

DOVER - Reverend Allen Y. Jones, Sr. of Dover walked into eternity to be with his Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, February 10, 2016. He was 83 years old. Rev. Jones was born in Yanceville, N.C. He served the Lord as an ordained minister in the Baptist communities of New Jersey and Delaware until retiring in 1996. Rev. Jones deeply loved his family. Rev. Jones loved to bowl, fish and hunt. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ruby Lee Jones, 2007; and his son, Allen Jones, Jr., 2002. He is survived by two sisters, Laura Farrish and her husband Reese of Reidsville, N.C. and Carolyn Graves and her husband Alfred of Upper Marlboro, Md.; his daughter, Priscilla Gore and her husband Cephus of Dover; three grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Kathryn Gore of Townsend, Marcel and his wife Casey of Camden, and Lakesha Gore and her friend Johnathan Brodie of Dover, and five great grandchildren, Bryttani Gore & Olivia Gore of Camden, Kristopher Scott, Andrew Smith, & Kierstyn Smith of Townsend; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 12 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 301 Walker Road, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to First Baptist Church, 301 Walker Road, Dover, DE 19904. Arrangements by Torbert Funeral Chapels, Dover.
