CAMDEN — Caesar Rodney High girls’ lacrosse player Ella Price was voted this week’s State News Athlete of the Week

The senior co-captain tallied her 200th career point in a game last week for the Riders, who are 13-1.

For her career, Price now has 100 goals and 116 assists for 216 [points. That includes 19 goals and 43 assists this season.

“Ella has been a huge leader on and off the field,” said CR coach Georgina Voss. “She is someone who gives her all each game and plays with grit. She has helped lead down on our offensive end, setting up her teammates to score, being one of our top feeders with five assists in each of our last two games and running plays during crucial games.”

The Athlete of the Week is nominated and chosen by our readers. The nominating period starts at 2 p.m. on Friday and ends at noon on Monday. A voting period follows from 5 p.m. Monday through 5 p.m. Wednesday.

This process is performed exclusively online. When nominating an athlete, please include name, school and sport as well as a photo and brief description of why he or she deserves that week’s honor.

All nominations must be high school varsity athletes and come from high schools within Kent or Sussex counties. The winner appears in print and online each Sunday.
