MAGNOLIA - Pauline Patricia Parker, 83, died after a battle with cancer on Nov. 9, 2010, in her daughter's home with her family by her side. Mrs. Parker was born in 1926 in Lowestoft, England, and moved to the States in 1991 to make her home with her daughter Catherine Palmer. Her greatest joy was to live with and watch her three grandchildren, Whitney, Sarah, and Daniel grow up. She poured her love into many children as she helped with her daughter's daycare. Truly a devoted nanny to many, she was loved by all and will be sorely missed. She loved welcoming new babies into the church with handmade crocheted and knitted sweaters. Some favorite hobbies were reading, gardening, and listening to hymns. She was a Braves fan and loved a good game of Bingo. Pauline always thought of others and had a sacrificial, giving spirit. Her laughter and smile, and strong zest for life were contagious. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends from church, and special friends, Velda, Pete, and Grace Wieczorek were like another family to her. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, John, who died 44 years ago. She raised five children on her own and was an amazing mother and grandmother. She leaves behind her five children, Paul and wife Tracy, Michael and wife Carola, Julie and husband Jeffery, Jayne and husband Robert, and Catherine and husband Daniel; her ten grandchildren, Cherie and Nicholas Nelson, Jason and Marie Parker, Andrew and Karina Parker, Jonathan Ellis, and Whitney and her fiance Andrew, Daniel, and Sarah Palmer; her twin sister Mary, and brother-in-law, Collin Crawley; and her sisters, Lillian and Monica. She will be greatly missed by them all. A service will be 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 13, at Dover First Seventh-day Adventist Church, 647 Wyoming Ave., Dover, where viewing will be held one hour earlier. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Dover First Seventh-day Adventist Church Summer Day Camp Program, 647 Wyoming Ave., Dover, DE 19904. Arrangements are by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
