SILVER SPRING, Md. -- Paul E. Layton, 91, of Silver Spring, formerly of Felton, Del., died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, in Rockville. He was born in Harrington, Del., son of the late Wilbur B. Layton and Mary Hurd Layton. He was reared by his aunt and uncle, the late Lola and Edwin Hurd of Felton. Mr. Layton was the youngest of seven siblings and was preceded in death by all of them. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth S. Layton. Mr. Layton was a Goldy Beacon graduate and served in the U.S. Army Air Force M.R.U. Unit U-Staff. He was employed in general accounting by the federal government and was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were in the Chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Main Street, Felton. Interment was at Barrett's Cemetery, Frederica, Del.
