Ozzie Mae Parker
MILFORD - Ozzie Mae Parker of Milford went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at home.
She, with her husband and children, moved to Delaware in 1972.
Ozzie was a homemaker and a foster grandparent at the Stevenson House for several years before her retirement.
She was known throughout the Christian community as she frequented several ministries from North Carolina to Pennsylvania.
Ozzie was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist, Miracle Tabernacle of Deliverance, and Faith Hope and Love C/F, where she held the position of the "church mother."
She last attended New Beginnings Ministry of Greenwood until she became unable to travel.
She had a way of sharing her life experiences that would always make you laugh.
When Ozzie had something to share that she was really excited about she would start out by saying "Let me tell y'all one thing."
She was an avid prayer warrior and lived for the Lord with everything that she had.
Ozzie will be greatly missed.
She leaves behind six daughters, Rosemary Maxberry of Milford, Lewie Green of Dover, Marva Smith of North Carolina, Dorothy Abraham of Milford, Katherine Best of Wilmington and Juanita Taylor of Dover; one son, Algiers Royster of Chester, Pa.; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Clara Ellison.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Faith, Hope and Love Church, Milford, where friends may view two hours prior. Ozzie requested that no one wear black to the funeral.
Burial will be at Siloam AME Church in Lincoln.
