MILFORD - Otto Albert Evans passed away peacefully in the early morning of Saturday, March 12, 2022, at his home, surrounded by family.
He was born January 9th, 1945 in Atlanta, Ga. the late Otto and Gladys Evans.
Otto enlisted into the Air force when he was 18. He proudly served and retired as a Master Sargent load master on C-5's in the 9th MASS in his military career. Otto had a passion for serving his country.
He then went on to further his education with receiving a college degree. Mr. Evans met Marcy Eaton in his early years, and had their first child Irene, they later separated. He then met his first wife Margaret Eitze in Germany while he was stationed there. They had their children Mike and Frances, they later divorced, but always remained friends in life. He married Sandy Evans and they were married until her passing.
Otto had an immense love for helping people. He always put other people before himself. He spent his retirement years on the water, where he took family fishing every chance he got.
He is survived by his girlfriend of 13 years, Michelle Bee. Also survived by his children, Irene Zinniel of Sioux Falls, S.D., (Jay) Michael Evans (Tammy) of Hartly, Del., Frances Evans of Hartly, Del., Shane Evans of Milford, Del., Robyn Ivey of Milford Del.; his adored grandchildren, Cassandra (Matt), Joseph (Amy), Matthew (Maddy), Ashley, Josh, Andrew, Robbie and Tristan; his great-grandchildren, Quinn and Beau, and on the way, baby Otto; and his siblings, Cathy, Diane and Reatha; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Gladys Evans; his wife, Sandy Evans; and sister, Linda Bennett.
The family will receive visitors at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday 3/22, with a funeral service at 11 a.m.
Interment will be Millsboro Veterans Cemetery.
