LINCOLN, Mo. - Orville Kenneth Hawkins Jr. of Lincoln passed away Monday, June 11, 2007, at his home. He was 65.
Orville was born May 22, 1942, in Boston, son of the late Orville Kenneth Sr. and Lillian Christine (Jason) Hawkins.
He served his country honorably for 16 years in the U.S. Army.
Orville was a member of the New Life Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Gregory Godwin.
Orville is survived by his wife, Peggy (Sample) Hawkins; his daughters, Altaira "Terri" (Randy) Skipper of Conway, S.C., and Renee Hawkins of Newark, Ohio; his stepsons, Steve (Monica) Godwin and Schon Godwin; his sisters, Maureen (Jesse) James and Donna (Syed S.) Ali; a brother, John "Rick" (Helen) Hawkins; his grandchildren, Garth and Laura DeBell, Amanda and Autumn Myers, Douglas Cross, Brandy and Drandy Skipper, Stephanie, Andrew, Zoë, Ashley and Kevin Godwin; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, with services Friday at noon in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Grove City Cemetery.
