MILFORD - Norma D. Potter passed away at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pa., on Tuesday, Mar. 7, 2017. She was born in Milford to the late Mary (French) and Jehu M. Davis, Sr., on Jun. 30, 1945.
Norma worked as a secretary at Milford Memorial Hospital for 41 years and served on the board of directors for Milford Memorial Hospital Credit Union. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and attended Sunday night services at Cedar Neck Church. Norma was very involved with the United Methodist Women and as a volunteer at Calvary United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gospel and country music and attended many concerts and shows. She was an avid Phillies fan and attended a game in celebration of her 70th birthday. Norma enjoyed hosting her annual Easter egg hunt for family and friends for over 30 years. Along with her husband, Horace, she also hosted the Hickory Ridge Antique Farm Show for 20 years on their farm.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Horace Potter; by her brother, Thomas Davis; and also by her brother-in-law, Robert Cole.
Norma is survived by her siblings, Jehu (and Marie) Davis, Jr., Marvin (and Charlotte) Davis, Donald (and Geraldine) Davis, William (and Betty Lou) Davis, Mary Ann (and William) Draper, all of Milford, Joyce Cole, of Cheswold; and sister-in-law, Janice Davis, of Delmar, Md. She is also survived by special friend, Mary K. Warnick; cousin, Patsy Hughes, both of Milford; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Mar. 14, 2017, at 12 noon in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. Interment will be at Milford Community Cemetery.
