GEORGETOWN - Noah B. Smith of Georgetown passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at Harrison Senior Living, Georgetown. He was 91.

Noah was born in Milton, son of the late James W. and Lela (Bryan) Smith.

He was a deputy warden at the Sussex Correctional Institute in Georgetown for many years, retiring in 1984.

Noah was a member of the Coolspring Presbyterian Church and past member of St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Milton.

Noah was involved with the Georgetown Little League and girls softball, and enjoyed woodworking, rabbit hunting and farming.

In addition to his parents and siblings, Noah was preceded in death by his wife, Florence V. Martin Smith, in 1995; and a son, Donald Smith.

Noah is survived by three children, Jo Ellen Tracy and her husband Bill of Georgetown, Robert N. Smith of Georgetown and Anthony M. Smith and his wife Ann of Lincoln; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call one hour prior.

Burial will be in Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.

Contributions in Noah"s memory can be made to the Alzheimer"s Association, Delaware Regional Office, 2306 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805.
