Nicola Alessandro
Sept. 22, 1942 - April 14, 2022
It is with great sadness that Nicola Alessandro passed away on April 14, 2022 in his home.
Born on September 22, 1942 in Roscigno, Italy, Nicola made his way from Italy, to France and Switzerland, then to Canada, before becoming a Naturalized Citizen of the United States, something he was extremely proud of.
Nicola worked as a self- employed mechanic most of his life until his retirement. He enjoyed cooking fabulous Italian dishes for his family and growing his own fruits and vegetables in the back yard. The yard and garden were his favorite places to be. Nicola has a grandson, Rocco James Alessandro who was his heart and soul. They enjoyed weekly lunches and then having dinner at the house. He was Rocco's biggest supporter and was extremely proud of all his accomplishments and the young man he has become.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmine Alessandro and Maria Carmella Crisci Alessandro of Roscigno, Italy; his wife, Nancy Alessandro of Dover on 02/12/2002; and his sister, Antonietta Alessandro Arcella of Italy.
Nicola is survived by his son, Carmine Alessandro (daughter-in-law Dianna Sellers); son, Nick R. Alessandro (daughter-in-law Beth Canalichio); son, Charles S.M. Alessandro (daughter-in-law Mary Alessandro). He is also survived by his brother, Biagio Alessandro and wife Pina of West Hempstead, N.Y.; sister, Rosamaria Pagano of Whitestone, N.Y.; sister, Virgilia Alessandro Corso of Italy; sister, Filomena Salamone (husband Carmine) of Massapequa, N.Y.; a grandson, Rocco James Alessandro, son of Nick R. Alessandro and Beth Canalichio; grandson, Tyler Sumey of Camden, Del., son of Mary Alessandro and Charles S.M. Alessandro; and his fiancé, Carol Kelly of Franklin Square, N.Y. Nicola was also the proud uncle of numerous nieces and nephews, in both New York and Italy.
