Nelson Calvin Crew, 71 CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Nelson Calvin Crew, died Friday, January 29, 2010, in Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C. He was 71. He was born in Fairlee, Md. August 5, 1938, the son of the late Marion and Marguerite Taylor Crew. He graduated from Chestertown High School class of 1957 and in 1962 he married Sharon Wright, they were married 30 years. Mr. Crew worked at an early age on the family's farm until beginning work as a mechanic and painter with Ozman's Body shop. He later worked for Gerald Bos as a salesman, representing International Harvester Farm Equipment. He later owned and operated Eastern Shore Sales and Service selling Case light industrial farming equipment. Mr. Crew worked again with International Harvester, this time representing the company by selling Heavy Duty Industrial Equipment. He then worked as a Building Salesman with Wickes Buildings, Red Rose Buildings, Conestoga Buildings, and finally Unlimited Structures, until the time of his illness. He was a charter member of the Chestertown Elks Lodge 2474 and Frank M. Jarman American Legion Post 36 in Chestertown, Md., and a past member of Chestertown Lions Club. He enjoyed crabbing, fishing, traveling, and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Melvin Richard Crew, David Alan Crew and William Howard Crew. Mr. Crew is survived by his daughter, Shari Crew Smith and her husband, Scott of Chestertown, Md.; three sisters, Marlene Crew Schmidt and her husband, Milt of Clayton, Helen Boyd and her husband, Dave of Bridgeville and Margaret Ann Pitts and her husband, David of Chestertown, Md.; two grandchildren, Frankie Smith and Carli Smith of Chestertown, Md.; a dear friend/close cousin, Donald "Blue" Crew of Chestertown, Md.; along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2010, at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, Md., where relatives and friends may call one hour prior to the service (1 to 2 p.m.). Interment will be in Chester Cemetery, Chestertown, Md.
