CHRISTIANA - Nellie V. Thorp of Christiana passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at her home. She was 92.
Nellie sold produce years ago at the market on King Street in Wilmington. In later years she sold produce from a roadside stand near her home on Old Baltimore Pike.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, in 1969; her daughter, Nancy Hanna, in 1963; and a brother, Jim Shorts.
Nellie is survived by her grandson and his wife, Dave and Debbie Hanna of Smyrna; three great-grandsons, David, Daniel and Christopher; a brother, Tom Shorts of Newark; and a niece, Marcia Jenkins.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park, North DuPont Highway, New Castle.
Friends may call from 10:15-11 a.m. in the chapel.
Interment will be in the adjoining memorial park.
