Mildred Elizabeth Fithian, 84

ROCK HALL, Md. - Mildred Elizabeth Fithian of Rock Hall died Monday, May 21, 2007, in the Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown. She was 84.

Mrs. Fithian was born May 9, 1923, daughter of the late Harvey Sr. and Mariam "Potts" Coleman.

She graduated from Rock Hall High School.

Mrs. Fithian loved playing cards, taking bus trips and going to shows. She also enjoyed taking care of her animals and her home. In her earlier years, she enjoyed bowling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter William Fithian, in 1983; and her son, Jeffrey Lynn Fithian, in 1989. She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

She is survived by one son, Walter William Harvey Fithian of Rock Hall; six grandchildren, Tracey Middleton, Anne Fithian, Bill Fithian, Jenn Fithian and Laura Fithian, all of Rock Hall, and Amanda Fithian of Chestertown; six great-grandchildren, Brandon Mitchell of Rock Hall, Brandon Middleton of Elon, N.C., Regan Mitchell of Rock Hall, Nathan Fithian of Rock Hall, Alana Fithian Wilson of Chestertown, and Alycia Wilson of Chestertown; and two great-great-grandchildren, Brayden Mitchell and Alexis Mitchell, both of Rock Hall.

A visitation will be Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown. Services will be Saturday, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Co. and Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 577, Rock Hall, MD 21661.
