Mildred Chichester

DOVER - Mildred "Earna" Chichester went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017.
She was born Mar. 27, 1924 in Casco, Va. to the late Elijah and Susan Wood. Mrs. Chichester attended Highland Springs High School. She was a supportive military wife and moved across the United States many times including almost four years in Japan. She worked at ILC as an inspector of inflatable tents in Frederica and space suits in Dover. Mrs. Chichester loved doing crafts, making quilts, afghans, and throw pillows. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed collecting cook books. Mrs. Chichester was a devoted Christian and loved watching Jimmy Swaggart. Member of Calvary Assembly of God Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Willard M. Chichester; and grandson, Brian Sawyer; siblings, Frances, Pearl, Eula, Stewart, Charlie, Harry, Woodrow, Elmer and Russell.
She is survived by daughters, Peggy Adlar and Barbara Hall; grandson, Michael Sawyer and Sean Hall.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
In lieu of flowers family suggests contributions be made to Seasons Hospice, 220 Continental Dr., Suite, 101, Newark, DE 19713.
