HARRINGTON - Michael W. Rohrbach of Harrington died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 63.
Mr. Rohrbach was born in York, Pa., son of the late Howard W. Rohrbach and Helen R. Rohrbach Stoner.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force. After completion of his four-year term and training in flight school, he enlisted in the Air Force Reserve as a flight engineer, and remained there for 21 years.
Mr. Rohrbach worked as a supervisor for Fleet Services for more than 32 years until his retirement.
In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking. He also enjoyed helping out the neighbors whenever they needed something done. Above all, he was very passionate about golfing. He thoroughly enjoyed the game and playing with his friends. He will be remembered as a good husband and father who was a friend to all and liked by all. He enjoyed making people laugh and smile, and was known as the comic relief. He was especially fond of his granddaughter, who lovingly referred to him as her "Papoo."
Mr. Rohrbach was a member of the Jonathan's Landing Golf Club. He also was a lifetime member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Bonnie Rohrbach of Harrington; a son and a daughter-in-law, Howard W. "Ike" and Edna Rohrbach of Magnolia; a daughter and a son-in-law, Gail and Danny McLaughlin; a granddaughter, Lauren Renae McLaughlin; two brothers, Mitchell Rohrbach of Hellan, Pa., and Martin Rohrbach of Columbia, Pa.; and a sister, Jennifer L. French of York.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Melvin Funeral Home, Harrington, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
