McGuire, 60
DOVER - Michael James McGuire passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 1, 2021 at his home.
Born on September 19, 1960, Michael was the beloved son of Susan Farley of Dover, Del. Mike was a warm, loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. Michael was a U.S. Army Veteran and after his military service he became a maintenance mechanic for over 30 years. He loved hunting, fishing, making people laugh, listening to Frank Sinatra, and watching his favorite movies many times over.
Michael was best known for his big heart, he made friends everywhere he went. He will forever be in our hearts with the countless memories we have made with him throughout the years.
He was a devoted father of Kristin Slaughter and father-in-law of spouse Jonathan Allison; and devoted father to David McGuire; beloved grandfather to Kellyanne Allison. He is also survived by his sisters, Deborah J. Connolly of Dover and Linda Sue McGuire of Tennessee; twin brother, Mark McGuire of Magnolia and Arthur P. Gill (Gretchen) of Smyrna, Del., Robert C. Beattie (Lee) of Chicago.
A private service will be held with immediate family.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Michael's memory to Bombay Hook Wildlife Refuge, 2691 Whitehall Neck Road, Smyrna, DE 19977.
