Michael "Butch" Drobotan, 86

DOVER - Michael "Butch" Drobotan of Dover died Saturday, June 30, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 86.

Mr. Drobotan was born May 9, 1921, in Peabody, Mass. He was adopted and raised by his grandparents, Roman and Stella Drobotan.

He was a proud veteran, serving in the U.S. Army in World War II, and the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force in 1970.

Mr. Drobotan then worked for Schatz & Schatz Plastering in Houston as a truck driver and yard foreman.

He enjoyed playing golf, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. For the last five years, he cared for his wife suffering from Alzheimer"s. He was always ready, willing and able to lend a hand.

Mr. Drobotan is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret "Peggy" Drobotan; a daughter, Margaret A. "Peggy" Wireman and her husband Edward; a son, Michael E. Drobotan and his wife Wanda; three grandchildren, Edward S. Wireman Jr., Kimberly J. Zink and Diana R. Drobotan; two great-grandchildren, Casey and Austin Wireman; two brothers, John Mofran and William Nafranovich; and a sister, Helen Savino.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
