CAMDEN - Michael D. Loper of Camden died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, in his home. He was 47.
Mr. Loper was born Nov. 17, 1959, in Dover, son of Frances (Hurley) Loper and the late William L. Loper.
He worked as a laborer for Allison Construction, Dover. He also drove tractor-trailers and dump trucks.
He enjoyed saltwater fishing, playing pool, and NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt Jr. He especially liked being with family and friends for gatherings and fellowship.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Leah Loper; and his maternal grandparents, Franklin and Pearl Hurley.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Frances and Walt Allison of Little Creek; two sisters, Debbie Rash of Dover and Barbara Loper of Rehoboth Beach; three stepbrothers Eddie Allison, Jimmy Allison and Kenny Allison and his wife, Lisa, all of Dover; four nieces, Billy Joe Stapleford of Dover, Valerie Rash of Smyrna, Dawn Opdyke and her husband, Ron of Cheswold and Melinda Rash of Camden; three great-nieces; and two great-nephews.
Funeral services will be 7:30 p.m. Sunday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
