WARWICK, Md. - Merritt T. Bramble Sr., of Warwick, died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, in his home. He was 87.
Mr. Bramble was born on Dec. 17, 1920, in Massey, to the late John T. and Sally Ann Clark Bramble.
He was a farmer, working and raising his family on Bloomingdale Farm for 28 years.
In 1974, he moved to Warwick and was employed with LJC Farm Store in Cecilton until 1983, when he joined his sons at their business, B&B Pile Driving in Cecilton.
He was preceded in death by a son, John Clark Bramble; a brother, William Bramble; and two sisters, Hilda Turner and Christina Gilbert.
Mr. Bramble is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ethel Mae Bramble; four children, Merritt T. "Butch" Bramble Jr. and his wife Doris of Chestertown, Jacqueline F. Gregg and her husband Dave of Elkton, Robert C. Bramble and his wife Susan of Warwick, and Barbara Lee Bramble and her companion James Edward Freeman Jr. of Galena; daughter-in-law, Diane Bramble of Galena; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, where friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
Burial will be in Galena Cemetery.
