GEORGETOWN - Mary Cande Perez of Georgetown went to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 54.
Waiting to welcome her home were her mother, grandmother, other family members and so many friends.
Oh, what a joyous and wonderful time that must have been for all of them.
For the family and friends that were left behind, their hearts were filled with sorrow and despair but were soon replaced with fond memories of her loving and caring that she gave to them all.
She was an active member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, Georgetown.
She loved to help decorate the church and the hall for different events and seasons of the year. She especially enjoyed assisting with vacation Bible school for the children in the summer.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the Bethesda United Methodist Church, Bethesda Road, Georgetown
The Rev. Ronald Schatz will officiate the service.
Instead of flowers, Mary requested memorial contributions made payable and sent to Debbie Ward, 409 S. DuPont Highway, Milford, DE 19963. Any funds collected will be divided among the homeless shelters of the Georgetown area, which includes "La Esperanza" that helps the needy Hispanic community and the Sussex County Needy Family Fund.
