Mary Ann England, 71
DOVER - Mary Ann England of Dover died Friday, July 13, 2007, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 71.
Mrs. England was born March 9, 1936, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Boyle) Medkeff.
Before taking her retirement and enjoying life as a homemaker, she had worked for The Shepherd Place, Dover.
Her hobbies included reading, music and dancing.
Mrs. England was a past Master Rosicrucian, Ancient Mystical Order of Rosae Crucis, a member of the Red Hat Society, a member of Human Services Club of Delaware Technical & Community College, Terry Campus, a member of the Modern Maturity Center, and a past member of the Edgar Cayce Foundation.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie England; a son-in-law, Charles Ascarino; and two brothers, Samuel Medkeff and Gerald Medkeff.
She is survived by her husband of 51½ years, James C. England; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Judy and Mitch Mills of Virginia Beach, Va., Paula and Butch Cassidy of Camden, Tamara and Perry Vicere of Dover and Barbara Ascarino of Taylors, S.C.; a son, James M. England of Dover; four brothers, Thomas B. Medkeff, John L. Medkeff and Michael K. Medkeff, all of Wilmington, and Allen J. Medkeff of Dover; a sister, Kathleen C. (Medkeff) Jones of Wilmington; 15 grandchildren, Trey Martin, Erin Ridgeway, Joshua Brimer, Jeremy Cancelo, Marisa Vicere, Tony Vicere, C.J. Ascarino, Amber Ascarino, John Ascarino, Melinda Mills, Joseph Mills, Timothy Mills, Julian Vicere, Marie Cassidy and Jacqueline Daub; two great-grandchildren, with a third expected in September; and a very special and longtime friend, Helen Jones.
Services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery South, 100 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Lung Association of Delaware, 422 S. Governors Ave., Dover, DE 19904.
