Marie Maude Blanchard, 52

SEAFORD - Marie Maude Blanchard of Seaford departed this life on Sunday, June 10, 2007, in Christiana Hospital. She was 52.

Ms. Blanchard was born on Oct. 12, 1954, in Lagonave, Haiti.

She attended the First Haitian Church of God in Seaford. She loved to go to church, that was her life. She also loved to cook and tell funny jokes.

She is survived by her husband, Antoine Blanchard; her children, Daphney, Ruth, Daniella, David, Ismeal and Edzer Blanchard; her grandchildren, Jeanine, Justice, Ruby, Jada, Armonie, Jasmine, Adam and Niomie.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Bennie Smith Fuenral Home, 437 Front St., Seaford.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Stein Highway Church of God, Stein Highway, Seaford.

Burial will be in the Middleford Cemetery, Seaford.

Leonard Thomas Johnson Jr., 71

EASTON, Md. - Leonard Thomas Johnson Jr. passed away June 5, 2007, in Easton Memorial Hospital. He was 71.

Mr. Johnson was born March 15, 1936 in Philadelphia, son of the late Leonard T. Johnson Sr. and Margaret Price Johnson.

He was educated in the Talbot County school system. At graduation he entered the U.S. Air Force from which he was honorably discharged.

Mr. Johnson was a chef at the Robert Morris Inn and Pier Street, Oxford. He also worked for the Federalsburg school system.

During that time he married his wife of 38 years, Pearl Davis Johnson, who preceded in death. He later married Elaine Scott Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was a member and past master of the Masonic Easton Star Lodge 16, and past district deputy grand master of the Seventh Masonic District. He was also a member of Myra Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Blake-Blackston Post 0077.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Scott Johnson; a brother, Kelvin Johnson; a sister, Merle Johnson Bleier Anderson; step-sisters, Ida Mae Leatherberry and Blance Walker; step-daughters, Sonia Scott, Tyneice Scott and Latoya Scott; cousins, Minnie Johnson, Joyce Stanton and Deena Stanton; a host of grandchildren, great-nieces and great-nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today in Bethel AME Church, Easton.

Burial will be Monday in Maryland Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Hurlock.
