Marie Hopkins Deaner

DOVER - Marie Hopkins Deaner, 87, of Dover, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, in Caroline Nursing Home, Denton, Md. She was born Dec. 28, 1922, in Milton, to the late Robert and Virgie Clendaniel Workman. She is survived by one daughter, Virginia "Sue" Rathell of Dover; one grandson, Brent W. Parenteau of Dover; and three great-grandsons, Colby Dean Parenteau, Cohen Wayne Parenteau, and Tyler Wade Parenteau. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Deaner. Mrs. Deaner was a graduate of Goldie Beacon Business School. She was a poultry farmer for Perdue along with her husband and also worked as a registrar with the Board of Elections, Denton, Md., retiring in 1978. Services will be 12:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, at Fleegle & Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W. Sunset Ave., Greensboro, Md., where a visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in Eastern Shore Veteran Cemetery, Hurlock, Md.
