MILLSBORO - Marie B. Weaver, age 83, of Millsboro, formerly of Ocean View, and Hanover, Pa., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md. She was born on March 5, 1928, in Hanover, Pa., daughter of the late Frank and Carrie (Hemler) Poist. Marie served as a waitress in many local restaurants over the years before her retirement. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Bernard "Whitie" Weaver in 1998. She is survived by three sons, Stephen Weaver and wife Ann, Robert Weaver and wife Debbie and James Weaver and wife Virginia; five daughters, Stephanie Reck and husband Lynn, Margaret "Peg" Shaffer and husband Rick, Jane Kress, Susan Smith and husband Dean and Cindy McCabe and husband Jerry; one sister, Patricia Kebil; two sisters-in-law, Mary (Wesie) Weaver and Mary (Robin) Weaver; 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 35318 Church Rd., Frankford, DE 19945. A visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, DE 19970. Interment will be at St. George's Cemetery, Clarksville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Marie's name to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963; or Roxana Volunteer Fire Company, 35943 Zion Church Rd., Frankford, DE 19945.
