Marian Renée Patterson

BEAR - Marian Renée Patterson, 35, of Bear, Del., passed away suddenly on Friday, June 22, 2012. Marian was born in Lewes, on May 19, 1977 and graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in 1995. A stay at home mother and homemaker, she was an active leader with Troop 34 of the Girl Scouts as well as an involved parent at her children's schools and activities. She was a gifted artist and loved teaching and enjoyed doing crafts with her children, nieces and nephews. Marian also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was known for her generous giving ways. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter and friend. All our hearts and lives were enriched by her. Marian is survived by her loving husband, David W. Patterson of Bear; her daughter, Maggie; and her son, Boe; her parents, Jacqueline Savin Searles and William Searles of Elkton, Md.; her brothers, Frank Savin and his wife Michele of Hockessin, Jonathan Freeman of Austin, Texas, Jason Breault of Wilmington, and Bill Searles, Jr. of Laurel Springs, N.J.; and her sister, Corinne Searles of Hoboken, N.J.; her grandmother, Marie Savin of Milford; and her loving in-laws, Sandy and Wayne Patterson of Newark, and Barbara and Evan Al-Chokhachy of Las Vegas, Nev. Marian was the loving Aunt Mimi to Kymber Savin, Simone Freeman, Gregory Savin and Marie Short. Marian had a large extended family who shared her loving, gentle presence. She was preceded in death by her adoring grandfather, John Savin, Jr. A service honoring her life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Cornerstone Church, 3135 Summit Bridge Road Bear, DE 19701. Friends and family may call at the church beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marian Patterson Memorial Fund to help provide for her children's education or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation c/o R.T.
