Margaret L. Emerson

SMYRNA - Margaret L. Emerson of Smyrna, passed away at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del. on Sunday Oct. 31, 2010. Mrs. Emerson was born Aug. 14, 1927 in Smyrna, Del. the daughter of the late Walter L. Brown and Elsie Emert Brown. She worked for many years for Playtex in Dover, before owning and operating Emerson Market in Smyrna. She was very proud to be a life-long resident of Smyrna. Mrs. Emerson enjoyed gardening and crafting and enjoyed spending time with her family. She belonged to the VFW Post #8801 Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, both in Smyrna. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Emerson in 1972; and two brothers, Walter Brown and Bob Brown. She is survived by her son, Bruce W. Foraker and his wife, Helen of Smyrna; a sister, Betty Pearce of Smyrna; a sister-in-law, Doris Brown of Dover; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Friday November 5, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Glenwood Cemetery in Smyrna, DE. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
