BISHOPVILLE, Md. - Margaret H. Savage of Bishopville died at home on Monday, March 12, 2007. She was 79.
Margaret was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church, Bishopville, where she was secretary usher and on the church board. She had excellent penmanship.
She was a super mother, grandmother and had a happy spirit.
She was a lady of many names including Flip, Grand-Nanna, Mother, Mommy, Muddy, Woman, Bobba, Nicea and Granny.
She ended her phone calls with "nite-nite."
She loved to knit, crochet and she collected dolls and videos.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Dean.
She was survived by her husband, Clarence Savage to whom she was married 24 years; a son, Woodrow Higgins of Bishopville; daughters, Uaseline S. Hallett and husband, John Henry of Bishopville, Joyce Ann Goodman of Millsboro, Zakiyya Salahudin of Selbyville, Fredia Eley and husband, Lenwood of Milton, Felicia Johnson and husband, Ronald of Bishopville; adopted daughter, Linda Thomas of Georgetown; brother, Leonard Higgins and wife, Deborah Moore of Sicklerville, N.J.; sisters, Oneda Purnell and husband, Leon of Seaford, Mildred Handy of Ocean City, Md.; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Calvary Pentecostal Church, Bishopville where friends may call one hour prior.
Pastor Louise Williams will officiate.
Interment will be in Curtis Cemetery, Bishopville.
