MILLSBORO - Mrs. Maretta Perry, 90, of Millsboro passed away peacefully at home with her family, on April 22, 2011. Born on Aug. 22, 1920 she was the daughter of the late Walter and Cartha Hitchens Conaway. Tragically her mother died when she was three, and she was raised by Della and Granville Messick. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, and was a lovely lady devoted to her grandchildren, and loved to kid around. She enjoyed walking, crabbing and spent her life on the water, and loved watching boats. She enjoyed eating out, and was delighted to be able to go to McDonald's with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, William Perry, in 2000. She was also preceded by a grandson, Billy Collins; and a brother, Elwood Conaway. She is survived by her children, Robert Perry, and his wife, Rebecca, of Georgetown and Betty Collins, and her husband, Bill of Laurel. She has three grandchildren, Linda Twilley, Debra Shields, and Kimberly Rogers; seven great- grandchildren, W.T. Collins, Melissa Pettyjohn, Dustin Collins, Daneille Shields, Cody Shields, Robby Rogers, and Nathan Rogers; two great-great-grandchildren, Abigail Collins and Ayden Collins. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held at Watson Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., where friends may call two hours prior for a viewing and visitation. Rev. Carol Svetcz will officiate. Interment follows at St. John Cemetery, Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions to either St. John's United Methodist Church; 24619 DuPont Blvd., Georgetown, DE 19947, or Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriot Way, Milford, DE 19963.
