Manfred R. Auras, 76

WOODSIDE - Manfred R. Auras, of Woodside, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 76.

Manfred was born July 13, 1931, in Bunzlau, Germany, son of the late Richard and Hertha (Wandel) Auras.

He served his country proudly for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired with the rank of technical sergeant.

After his military career, Manfred worked for the state of Delaware in the Office of Information Services, retiring in 2002.

His hobbies included philately and numismatics (the collecting and studying of coins and stamps). He also was an Elvis Presley fan and member of the Air Force Sergeants Association.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Audrey Auras; a son, Richard Charles Auras and his wife Robin of San Antonio; three daughters, Nancy Neumann and her husband Harold of Globe, Ariz., Karin Romisch and her husband Herbert of Magnolia and Kristina Ferguson of Downingtown, Pa.; six grandchildren, Tina, Christopher, Nicole, Andrew, Blake and William; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call two hours earlier.

Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
