Mabel Catherine Moore, 81
GREENWOOD - Mabel Catherine Moore, of Greenwood, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at her home. She was 81.
She was born on June 28, 1926, in Mays Landing, N.J., the daughter of the late William and Daisy Mae Smith Pratt.
Mrs. Moore worked as a ward clerk at Milford Memorial Hospital for 32 years, while raising six boys.
She was a cancer survivor of 33 years.
Mrs. Moore used to enjoy going to the skating rink; later in life she enjoyed doing needlework and crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Moore with her husband did missionary work for New Tribes Mission, going to Paraguay to work with the Ava Tribe.
She was a member of Tressler Mennonite Church in Greenwood.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Hazel Petnelli.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Russell C. Moore; six sons, John of Charlotte, N.C., Paul of Harrisonville, Pa., Peter of Greenwood, James of Plum, Texas, Daniel of Tucson, Ariz., and David of Hazard, Ky.; 24 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many caring neighbors and friends.
Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Tressler Mennonite Church, east of Greenwood on Del. 16.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the church.
Interment will be at adjoining cemetery.
Arrangements by Fleischauer Funeral Home in Greenwood.
